Frequently Asked Questions
Q. What is the first step to getting a puppy from ASA?
A. Because this breed is in its infancy here in Australia it is to be expected that we will run an advertising campaign on the appropriate puppy sites. It is our expectation though that we will not have to advertise for long and then it will simply be a matter of filling out our application form on this website
Q. Do I need to place a deposit? A. Yes, for current litters we require a holding deposit of one third of the purchase price with the balance payable on delivery.
If the time is not quite right for you to adopt a puppy, a $200 deposit will secure a puppy within a 2 year timeframe. All deposits are non refundable.
Q. Once my litter is born, at what age can I hold and play with puppies?
A. Puppies must be between 6-7 weeks to entertain visitors and have at least one vaccination.
Q. How often will photos of my puppies litter be sent to me?
A. We send clients puppy photos fortnightly, as puppies don’t change much at this time.
Q. Will my puppy come with vaccinations and be wormed?
A. All puppies receive worming at 2, 4, 6 and eight weeks of age. They also are vaccinated at six weeks. It is very important that the new owners have the booster shots done at 12 and 16 weeks respectively.
Q. Will I receive a copy of the vets shot record?
A. You will receive a complete health check up report with all shots and worming products your puppy received whilst with us.
Q. Will my puppy come with a micro chip?
A. Yes, we micro-chip all puppies at no charge to clients.
Q. At what age can my puppy leave you?
A. Puppies can leave us between 8-10 weeks in most cases depending on litter size and our vets recommendations with the average departing age of 9 weeks. If our vets feel that puppies should stay longer you will be notified.
Q. What if I cannot pick my puppy up for a few weeks when it's time to go?
A. We understand that life has its surprises it throws our way. We can keep your puppy for you for the discounted boarding fee of 14.00 a day .You are not charged for the first 7 days after the final vet appointment - go home day. If your puppy requires additional vaccinations, you will be charged for those.
Q. When is the balance due on my puppy?
A. The balance is due on delivery or pick-up. If you require us to road or air freight your puppy then the balance is payable at the age of seven weeks. The additional cost of the freight will be added to the total amount payable, as we are required to pay upon lodgment. To fly, we use Qantas Air and for Road transport we have a couple of options available to us depending on your location.
Q. How do we maintain contact with you.
ASA believe in building a comfortable, friendly and long-term relationship with our clients. We love to have regular updates and photos of our puppies. The website will host a dedicated gallery page.
